Lieutenant of the Grand Master of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Frà Giacomo Dalla Torre del Tempio di Sanguinetto has nominated Ambassador Alberto di Luca as his representative at the inauguration ceremony of the new President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic as he was not able to participate personally because of the concurrent audience with The Holy Father, the Pope Francis on the occasion of the Festivity of St.John the Baptist, the Patron of the Order.

During the inauguration ceremony, Amb. di Luca, in a brief talk with the newly elected Prime Minister, Ana Brnabic, has summarized the latest humanitarian activities of the Order and the preparing of the bilateral Postal Agreement which is expected to be signed shortly.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Acting Prime Minister, Ivica Dacic, has organized lunch for all Heads of foreign delegations arrived for the event and for the Ambassadors accredited in Belgrade.

Five Head of states and 21 foreign delegations were present at the solemn event, among which Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Dimitry Rogozin and ex German Chancellor, Gerhard Schroeder. Alberto di Luca (in the photo, behind Mrs. Vucic), during the short cordial talk with President Vucic, has once again expressed sincere congratulations of the Lieutenant and the Order in whole to the newly elected President at his high mission as a leader of a friendly State. He mentioned, as weel, a commitment of the Order to develop friendly and bilateral collaboration in all domains.

President Aleksandar Vučić takes oath of office - Belgrade, May 31. Aleksinac and Sabac – Winter 2014/2015 This 2015, the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Serbia will again be alongside those in need of “a hot meal on a cold winter’s day”. Together with the logistical collaboration of Caritas Serbia, every weekend during Serbia’s cold winter, at Aleksinac and Sabac, the initiative that satisfied more than 3,000 people last winter of 2014, will be repeated.

During the ceremony, H.H. Patriarch Irinej awarded with the high honor of "Holy Emperor Constantine" Ambassador di Luca for the activities on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan.

The new premises of the Embassy of the Order of Malta were inaugurated and blessed by Cardinal Angelo Scola, Archbishop of Milan, and special envoy of Pope Francis to celebrate the 1700th Edict of Constantine. The Ambassador Alberto di Luca has welcomed the Cardinal accompanied by the Archbishop of Belgrade Mons. Hocevar.

1113/2013: inauguration in the seat of the Serbian Parliament of the photographic exhibition on the 900 years of the papal bull which established the Sovereignty of the Order.
